Old caucasian Shirvan rug with an interesting multiple niche design. Much of the rug has good even low pile with scattered spots of moderate to heavy center wear. but the piece has heavy brown oxidation and in addition heavy red oxidation as well, both exposing foundation. Bottom damaged with a couple tears, holes, and some crude patches. Good original selvages. All natural colors. Restorable. ca. 1880 weaving. 3' 1" x 5' 6"
