Qarabagh khorjin (254 cm x 62 cm/100” x 24”) complete (although sold to me ‘opened up’ as a runner-sides not attached.) 2nd half 19th century. Truly a masterpiece of design and stunning colour; mustard, green, blue, brick red and a lovely Prussian blue bridge panel. (Striped back plate identical to Qarabagh saddlebag in John Wertime’s ‘”Sumak Bags of Northwest Persia” –pg. 201.) Strong. confident main motifs.. Fine detailed work in the guard stripes must be seen to be fully appreciated.
