a heavily patinated hardwood mask with an uncommon white-pigmented face and a mirror-like patina on the inside. The rubber strip was probably a means to support feathers or porcupine quills frequently used in shamans' headdresses.

Un masque en bois dur à la patine profonde, au visage étrange accentué de pigment blanc et doté d'une patine interne lisse comme un miroir. La bande de caoutchouc servait probablement à maintenir des plumes ou des piquants de porc-épic souvent utilisés dans les coiffures de chaman.
