An exceptional “all indigo” embroidery on an ivory background, this wonderful Tree seems to come from the Garden of Paradise. Although influenced by the Indian prototypes, and similar to some English crewel work, Castelo Brancos as they are known, are unique to Portugal. They are known to have reached their highest quality at the time this was made.
