unusual bachtiar rug. From a distance the design appears consistent with the Kashkai and other rugs from the nearby area of Shiraz. However, the weave confirms that this is a Bachtiar piece. There is a large range of colours and shades, including unusual greens and turquoise which suggests that most, if not all, of the dyes are natural.
