Papua New Guinea Cult house engraved wooden panel. Cm 145/56 in ca. Field collected mid 20th century by a Dutch collector in the Sepik river area mountains. Very hard wood, clay and plant pigments coloring. Such panels were used to decorate homes for cult ceremonies. Engraving and coloring was according to specific clan cults.
