Cm 50x340. For once an early piece, beginning 20th century. Sold legally after came out of a Belgian museum. In great condition. . --- This is a great n'tchak or loincloth worn by the females of the king's entourage in the Kuba kingdoms in Congo. Size is cm 50x340 ca. Hand woven in palm thread or raffia. This piece is very colorful and in good condition. And, for once, we have a piece that is datable to the first years of 20th century, so, about 100 years old. The provenance is a museum in Belgium. It has been legally bought trough an auction house. The piece has been collected in the 60s by missionaries. More infos on request.
