Originally this kilim was a large Qashqai camel bag that has been opened out to make a kilim. It is woven with undyed black goat´s hair and for the dyed areas sheep´s wool has been used. It still has the "handles" from where the bag was held to lift the weight and attach into the saddle´s structure. The simplicity of this design makes it ideal to be exhibited with African or contemporary art. Sourced in our last trip to Iran. S161x136 cms, (k1910131).
