The Yomut kilims are traditionally handwoven by the Yomut or Yomud, one of the major tribes of Turkmenistan and to a lesser degree Northern Afghanistan. This kilim is from Turkmenistan, with a superb execution quality with a very elegant dark hue. All the colours are vegetable dyes. These kilims are of very sturdy construction with a subtle colour palette. The design is an all over repeat lattice but with very long plain kilim ends, dotted with misterious small random motives.
