Chainstitch rug. Cm 120x200 ca. 1980s. After Dorazio painting. Unique.
Long story behind this lovely ❤️ chainstitch rug.
Once upon a time...I was having a small production of chainstitch rugs in Srinagar area, Kashmir, India. During one trip i got invited for dinner by Haji Nawab.....etc.. He offered a number of such rugs commissioned by a famous Italian painter, Dorazio. He said he had a row with him and refused to sell him the said rugs. We agreed. They were reproducing some of main Dorazio paintings! This is one of them. The rest was sold in uk to avoid copyright problems. Dorazio died a couple of years ago. His paintings are selling at top prices. Size is cm 120x200 ca.
