See the beauty of this panel. Don't look at the tears, holes, etc.,look at the lovely stripes, the great madder red, the tens of different s shaped symbols, each different. Admire the different color diagonal stripes, each in a different color.
Do you still see tears, holes, etc?
Imho this wonderful Shahsavan sumack khorjin or saddle bag face is "perfect" as it is, after all the long years of wandering around, carrying all kind of items a nomad needs in his life. Size is cm 46x49. Age could be 3rd or 4th quarter of 19th century. Great sumakh weaving. Pattern with colorful diagonal stripes, the red ground border filled with different styled "s" shapes, well known and used symbol for long life, well being, good will, etc. Lived, damaged, but simply great.
