a Rare Tribal art Masterpiece.
SHAHSAVAN mogan sumack mafrash side panel
cm 51x111. Third quarter 19th century, 1850/1875. As Tanavoli says in his mega book “Shahsavan” “This design is typical on the 19th century, seldom seen in the 20th”.
Deep and dark indigo blue background centerfield with four hooked hexagons with different color and color combination. Counterset on offset in the smaller rows. The two white borders host small cross motifs. But, in my opinion, the main highlights are the colors. a rare masterpiece of tribal art. Very tight and fine weave. Great spacing. In mint condition.
