This is a Karacadag rug fragment in the province of Karapinar, Konya country, Central Anatolia, Turkey. Size is cm 50x140. Age is 1810/1820 according to late Sonny Berntsson who saw it in Istanbul on one of our trips about 8/10 years ago. He knew Anatolian rugs like few others. Among others two well known experts and collectors, Deniz Coskun and Igor Honkanen were part of the "rug expedition". The rug was mounted by the best guy in these works in Istanbul: Ibrahim was his name if i remember well. Later on, back home in Italy, the rug was cut according to previous "paths" into three pieces. There was no agreement. Now, one fragment has gone. This one is available. Fair price. Email to carlokocman@gmail.com.
