Textiles of Burma.
This is a woman's wrap around skirt of the Southern Jingpho tribal group.
Cm 147x85. First half 20th century.
This group, also called Chingpaw, lives mainly in Northern Burma, Kachin state & Sagaing area. They belong to the Tibeto-Burman/Baric language group.
They are one of the numerous highland peoples of Burma.
One could write for hours about this fascinating tribe.
