Shirwan prayer rug. A small tribal jewel just out an important collection. Size is cm 95x150. Approx age is 4th q of the 19th c. White background. The area around the mihrab is filled with colorful stars. The main field, a real surprising rarity is certainly enigmatic and needs some studying. Anybody? The main border with scary crabs seems to protect the inside. The rug is very finely woven and is in very good condition. a few old, small restorations might be detected.
