a beautiful antique Baluch kilim woven with finely hand-spun wool. This exceptionally dark antique kilim is difficult to photograph, and the images do not fully capture the richness of its natural colours or the quality of its craftsmanship, both of which can only be truly appreciated in person. Particularly remarkable is its bluish-green hue, a colour typically found only in older Baluch pieces. The design is composed of broad bands running across the surface of the kilim. Some of these bands have been left plain and unadorned, while others have been meticulously decorated with small, intricate motifs. The very finely spun wool used in the weaving of this kilim allowed the weaver to create exceptionally delicate and detailed patterns. As the weaver had access only to a narrow loom, she achieved the desired width by weaving two separate panels and then carefully joining them together after completion. In very good overall condition, with a few minor repairs professionally executed in keeping with the age of the piece. This piece most likely originates from the Sistan region, an area long associated with the weaving traditions of Baluch tribal groups and renowned for producing finely crafted textiles with rich, natural colours. Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool Size: 297×165 cms Origin: Baluch tribe from Afghanistan Date of weaving: 1880s-1900s You can purchase this beautiful antique dark kilim directly from our web: https://www.nomada.biz/en/producto/antique-baluch-kilim-from-afghanistan...
