"Gernika" by Koldobika Jauregi (in the photograph). To commemorate the 75th aniversary of the Gernika bombing we commisioned the famous Basque sculptor to design a carpet. Our only request was that it should be in the same size as Picasso´Guernica. It took ten months to weave it in Nepal using the best quality Tibetan wool.
In this carpet Koldobika Jauregi has combined oriental looking elements with Basque rural images as it is normally seen in all his work.
It is a one off carpet. Ideal size for your chateau or your loft! 773x353cms
We also made two smaller ones, both sold (respecting the proportions of PIcasso´s Guernica) of 390x180 cms.
