Grogan & Company was founded in 1987 by Oriental rug expert Michael B. Grogan. Located on historic Beacon Hill in Boston, Massachusetts, Grogan & Company conducts four general estate auctions, including Oriental Rugs, as well as an Annual Fine and Exeptional Rug Auction, geared to the discriminating collector. Michael Grogan began his career in the Oriental Rug business in 1978 at Sotheby's in New York. After rising through the company to become the head of the Oriental Rug Department, then a Vice President, Mr. Grogan left Sotheby's in 1987 to establish Grogan & Company. In addition to being President and Auctioneer of Grogan & Company, Mr. Grogan is a frequent participant appraiser with Antiques Roadshow and the head of the Oriental Rug vetting committee for New York's Winter Antiques Show. Grogan & Company offers a full line of appraisal and estate consultation services, as well as the opportunity to buy or sell your Oriental rugs, fine art and antiques via the auction process.
